Congratulations go out to Jyselle Ramirez, 2nd grader at Garza Elementary for earning the top spot at District UIL Tournament. Her talent is Oral Reading, and she was successful at becoming the best at La Joya ISD! Jyselle is an avid reader who put her reading skills into interpreting her poem. She has read most of the Weird School Book Series and it brings out the “silly” in her, like her favorite characters. When she was asked how she felt about her great accomplishment she said, “It was so much fun bringing a poem to life!” Twenty seven elementary schools participated, and Jyselle managed to conquer the #1 spot in Oral Reading. She also participated in Storytelling but Oral Reading was the charm. Jyselle is in Ms. N Garcia’s 2nd grade class and an exemplary student at Garza Elementary.
