The students at Evangelina Garza Elementary are learning about open and closed electric circuits. When working with electricity the students design several electric circuit that work. The electric kits take the students on an adventure to understand how electricity and electrical current affects and relates to our basic everyday surroundings. Students relate these projects to everyday surroundings such as light from a bulb, a spinning fan, and sounds from a speaker. These skill are a stepping stone to future jobs and peak the student’s interest into different areas of education in the growing field of renewable energy. Students also learn to make sketches of circuits using the symbols that are used by engineers and electricians. Having the opportunity to invent and design their own working circuits with moving parts that light up and make sounds make learning the basics of circuitry fun for students. It is our hope here at Evangelina Garza Elementary that we peak students interest in the growing field of electricity and transfers in to high paying jobs.
