Students at Evangelina Garza Elementary enjoy a day of STEM activities. Today, they enjoyed building a catapult with 6 Popsicle sticks, a cup, a spoon, 2 rubber bands, 2 feet of tape, and 2 feet of string. They used the Engineer Design process to plan, create and test it. After the students built it, they measured the distance using a yard stick and explained how angles (acute, obtuse and right) affected the distance the army man traveled. After this, they recorded their data and results using a table where they were able to compare the different distances traveled.
