Five Gifted and Talented Students submitted a video for ARTBA’s 2020 Video Contest. American Road & Transportation Builders Association advocates strong investment in transportation infrastructure. Students Zabdiel Sanchez, Esteban Reyna, Evany Garza, Fernanda Garcia, and Isaia Trevino collaborated for this video. Their video entry has been selected as an Honorable Mention for Age Group (K-12 level) in the Safety category for ARTBA’s 2020 Contest Winners. Students worked on video under the supervision and direction of our GT teacher, Terri Ochoa. The judges commented that they were impressed with their work. Dr. Tarawneh, Assistant Dean of Engineering at UTRGV, said, “Earning an “Honorable Mention” in a national competition is a great accomplishment” and “your great efforts are being noticed nationally.” The Student Transportation Construction Industry Video Contest is aimed at helping students gain a better understanding of the importance of transportation infrastructure investment to the U.S. economy and quality of life, and to learn more about the industry and potential career opportunities.
