Save The Date! Week of February 27-March 3, 2023
STEM TIME IS SNACK TIME!
The fourth graders at Evangelina Garza STEM Elementary, Yamileth Juarez and Claribel Castillo, participated in a hands-on activity that showed real world examples of mixtures and solutions.
Upon completion of this activity students were able to identify several examples of mixtures and solutions that they see and use in their daily lives.
Additionally they learned how to distinguish the difference between a mixture and a solution. The students were able to learn a valuable concept in Science class along with enjoying a tasty snack. By Maria Saenz, 4th Grade

We're Crazy About Kindness!
Building a Culture of Kindness at our school with the Great Kindness Challenge Spirit Week!
Kindness is important, and this week we are participating in the Great Kindness Challenge. Students shared their "I am Kind" spirit by having fun with crazy hat/hair day!
Congratulations to Santiago for being our Top Non-Fiction Reader! We are so proud of him and his dedication to reading and learning. Wishing him a lifetime of great books!
Picture Day coming up!
Students enjoyed a day at the Incredi-Bowl in Mission, TX for their Perfect Attendance Celebration! Congratulations to all of our students who were in school every day.
Members of the “Read & Code Club” had the joyous opportunity to visit the Barnes & Noble Bookstore right before the winter break. This was a great opportunity for students to spend some time surrounded by books and other book lovers. They were given a tour of the establishment, enjoyed a read aloud, and relaxed in time of reading and shopping. Members of the “ACE Read & Code Club” meet twice a week after school to read stories together, talk about books they’ve read & loved, and to be the first to see what’s up and new in the world of books. In addition to reading, our club members also engage in Coding lessons & tutorial-based games to help them learn how to perform block-based programming. All of our club meetings are a stress-free time to participate in activities that promotes the development of lifelong readers & an opportunity to experience the world of computer science. “Reading is fun & coding helps me think like a game developer,” is what Ximena shared about her time in the club. That’s exactly our goal!
The gift of reading made possible by @Lajoyaaft continues to bring smiles!
Congratulations to Mauricio who has met the goal of reading for 1,000,000 words! He is now a Master Reader, and we couldn't be prouder of him. Wishing him a lifetime of great reads!
